Return, Withdrawal & Refund Policy (Belgium / EU)

This policy applies to all purchases made via Cardotopia.com and is drafted in accordance with Belgian and EU consumer protection legislation. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

2. Returns Address

All returns must be sent only after contacting us for instructions to:

Unannounced or incorrectly addressed returns may be refused.


3. Definitions

  • Consumer: a natural person acting outside their professional activity.
  • Business customer (B2B): a purchase made for professional purposes.
  • Right of withdrawal: the statutory consumer right to withdraw from a distance purchase.
  • Sealed products: products with shrink-wrap, factory seal, tamper sticker, or equivalent.
  • Opened or tampered: any broken or altered seal, removed shrink-wrap, resealing, cuts, tears, punctures, or other signs of manipulation.
  • Singles: individual trading cards sold as single items.
  • Digital goods: digital codes or electronically delivered content.
  • Pre-orders: items purchased before official release or before stock is available.

4. Consumer Right of Withdrawal

Consumers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 calendar days, without giving any reason, starting the day after receipt of the goods.

Withdrawal must be communicated by an unequivocal statement (email is sufficient).

Returned goods must be sent back within 14 calendar days after notifying withdrawal.


5. Return Shipping Costs and Risk

  • Return shipping costs are borne by the customer, unless the return is due to:
    • damage during transport,
    • a defect, or
    • an error by Cardotopia.com.
  • A return label may be provided. If the return is not due to one of the above reasons, the label cost may be deducted from the refund.
  • The customer bears the risk of loss or damage during return shipment until delivery to the returns address.
  • Tracked shipping is mandatory for returns of orders with a value above €250. Returns without valid tracking may be refused or not refunded if lost.

6. Condition of Returned Items & Diminished Value

Returned items must be:

  • in the same condition as received,
  • complete with all original components and packaging, and
  • properly packaged for safe transport.

Handling beyond what is necessary to assess the product may result in diminished value, which may be deducted from the refund.
Due to the collectible nature of TCG products, any condition change (scratches, whitening, bends, pressure marks, moisture damage, odors, altered packaging, etc.) may result in a partial or full deduction, up to 100%.


7. Sealed Products and Cosmetic Imperfections

Minor cosmetic imperfections on sealed products (e.g., small dents, slight corner compression, shrink-wrap irregularities) that do not affect contents or functionality are not generally considered defects and do not automatically qualify for a free return, replacement, or refund.


8. Items Not Eligible for Return or Refund

The following items are not eligible for return or refund, except where mandatory law explicitly requires otherwise:

  1. Single trading cards
  2. Pre-orders (all pre-orders are final)
  3. Opened or tampered products
  4. Digital goods, including digital gift cards, once delivery has started
  5. Mystery bags / mystery boxes
  6. Gift cards, including physical gift cards, whether sealed or unused
  7. Custom-made or personalised goods
  8. Sale or discounted items, particularly where discounted due to a clearly disclosed defect or damage

Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies despite the above, items must be returned in exactly the same conditionas shipped. Any deviation may result in a reduction or refusal of the refund.


9. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, the customer must contact us as soon as possible and preferably within 48 hours of delivery, providing:

  • the order number, and
  • clear photos of the item, packaging, and shipping box.

If confirmed, Cardotopia.com will provide an appropriate remedy (replacement, refund, or partial refund) at no additional cost.


10. Refunds

Refunds are processed within 14 days after receipt of the returned goods or proof of return shipment and issued via the original payment method.
If a delivery option more expensive than the cheapest standard option was chosen, the price difference is not refunded.


11. Exchanges

Cardotopia.com does not offer guaranteed exchanges. Any exchange requires prior written approval.


12. Business Customers (B2B)

Business customers do not benefit from the consumer right of withdrawal. Returns or cancellations are only possible with prior written approval from Cardotopia.com.
